Reverend Timothy Bupp, Pastor
Reverend Timothy L. Bupp was born in Western Pennsylvania, and worked in the steel mills in that area for 20 years of his adult life before God called him into ministry. He worked full time while studying for his bachelor’s degree at Slippery Rock University. Upon completion, he resigned his job in the mill and commuted to Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg.
Pastor Bupp was ordained June 19, 1999 and was called to serve Grace at Calvary Lutheran Church in Butler, Pennsylvania. All of this was possible only because God blessed him with the support of a wonderful wife, Kathy and three beautiful daughters; Amanda, Jessica, and Mallory.
Pastor Timothy Bupp was called to serve the congregation at Zion Lutheran Church and began his ministry here January 11, 2009. We are blessed with his dedication, commitment and passion for God's Word and welcome him into our church family.

Jillianne Davis, Youth & Christian Education Director
Jillianne loves being a Christian educator! She has a deep sense and affirmation that God has and is preparing her for educational ministry. Her job is not a job for her--it is what she does and who she is! And, really, who else gets to go skiing and hang out in coffee shops or at ball games with youth for a living? On a more serious note, Jillianne is excited to have accepted the call to be Zion’s Director of Youth and Christian Education in September 2009 and looks forward to many years in ministry at Zion.
Jillianne grew up in the Columbia area and attended Cardinal Newman High School. She then attended Erskine College on a volleyball scholarship but transferred to Columbia College in her junior year and graduated in 1999 with a BA in Biology and a minor in Religion. In 2007, Jillianne received her Master’s in Christian Education from Pfeiffer University. Jillianne has been working in youth ministry and Christian education in a paid capacity since 2002. She has served as youth minister at St John’s UMC and Trenholm Road UMC. She has also been the program administrator of the eChristianEd program at Columbia College (Wed-based training for Christian educators).
Jillianne loves being a mom to her four-year-old son, Blaine. She and Blaine live about 30 minutes away in Elgin, SC. They live near her mom, sister, niece and nephew with whom they love to spend time! When Jillianne and Blaine are not playing together, she loves to cook, play the guitar, play volleyball and softball, and spend as many hours as possible at the beach!
Important things you will get to know about Jillianne:
- Jillianne loves flip flops, probably has about 25 pairs, and wears them year round!
- Jillianne LOVES Mexican food and any kind of iced coffee!
- Jillianne secretly wants to be Rachael Ray and have her own television cooking talk show!
Some things you are likely to hear Jillianne say:
- Step out of your comfort zone / box
- God is good all the time and all the time, God is good!
- There’s no impossible situation that God can’t handle … God just might not handle it your way!
- God ALWAYS answers, we just forget to listen or we just miss it altogether!
- Blaine … where are you?! Blaine … come here! Blaine … I love you!
