The Box!
During Zion's 11:00 AM Sunday worship service, the children of the church are invited to join Pastor John Derrick near the alter for a brief learning adventure with "the box". Each Sunday, Pastor John gives the box to a different child and invites them to bring it back the next week filled with any object of their choosing. When the box is returned, Pastor John shows everyone the contents and quickly creates a Bible lesson for the children based on that object. Over the years the box has surprised both Pastor and congregation with a variety of interesting contents ranging from underwear and rubber duckies to paper clips and toy motorcycles. Fortunately, Pastor Derrick is never at a loss for translating the interesting object into a learning experience!
Zion invites your family to enjoy children's time with us during our 11:00 AM Sunday worship service. |
